  About Company
Cultured diamonds are lab-grown diamonds that possess the same sparkle, brilliance, fire and hardness as earth-mined diamonds. Each diamond is carefully and individually cultivated into some of the most rare and desirable colors.

These diamonds are the perfect way to experience first-hand the passion and excitement of owning an amazing, fancy-colored diamond.

Similar to a cultured pearl, a cultured diamond is a diamond that has had assistance in the growth process. Instead of being mined, our cultured diamonds are grown and monitored in a laboratory where it takes more than 100 hours to grow each one.

Each cultured diamond is grown individually, one by one, and the result is a spectacular fancy colored diamond with the exact same chemical, optical and physical properties as their mined counterpart. Every single diamond also has the same toughness as a natural fancy colored diamond; therefore they are cut and polished in the same manner.

What makes our fancy colored cultured diamonds so unique is that each diamond is grown individually depending on the desired size and color. These diamonds are not mass produced and are grown one at a time. By applying the appropriate pressure and temperature for common carbon to rearrange its atoms, carbon will change its phase and re-form into a diamond crystal. The result is a superb rough diamond crystal that can be cut and faceted like a mined diamond.

If you are looking for a fancy colored diamond in a particular shape or size that is not listed here, please contact us and we will let you know when one is available. Our yellow cultured diamonds are available in fancy shapes from time to time. Our pink and blue diamonds are only available in the round brilliant cut at this time. Just fill out our custom request form and we will respond within 24 hours.

Cut

All of our fancy colored cultured diamonds are cut to exact specifications to yield the best proportions, as we want all of our diamonds to be as symmetrical and precisely cut as possible. Each diamond is faceted and polished by the most skilled diamond cutters in the world to provide a diamond with very good polish and symmetry.

Our round brilliant diamonds have very good brilliance and even distribution of color with no color zoning.

Color

Fancy colored diamonds are diamonds with any noticeable depth of bodycolor. Red and green are the rarest fancy colors, followed by purple, violet, orange, blue, pink and yellow.

The bodycolor of a fancy colored diamond can be evaluated by looking at the following three criteria:

• Hue: The basic color of a diamond.
• Tone: A scale ranging from light to dark, indicating color intensity.
• Saturation: The color strength, purity or intensity of a diamond.

Our fancy colored diamonds are classified using non-gemological terms so that our customers can identify with the colors better. On EGL (European Gemological Laboratory) grading certificates however, fancy color grades are described using the following terms:

• Faint
• Very Light
• Light
• Fancy
• Light Fancy
• Fancy Intense
• Fancy Vivid

Fancy Yellow Diamonds

The most valuable natural fancy yellow diamonds have a distinct hue, darker tone, and vivid or strong color saturation. The more even and saturated the diamond, the more rare and valuable it is.

We offer our fancy yellow diamonds in five color ranges: light canary yellow, canary yellow, light marigold yellow, marigold yellow and amber yellow.

Below is a chart which lists our color grading terms with a more detailed description of the hues.

Color Description
Light Canary Yellow: Light lemony yellow
Canary Yellow: True cheerful yellow
Light Marigold: Warm sunny yellow
Marigold Yellow: Medium honey yellow
Amber Yellow: Deep golden yellow

Fancy Pink Diamonds

Our fancy pink diamonds have a distinctly pink bodycolor and are extremely rare in nature. The most valuable natural fancy pink diamonds have a distinct hue, medium tone and vivid color saturation.

We offer our fancy pink diamonds in five color ranges: baby rose pink, peachy pink, true pink, raspberry pink and intense pink.

Below is a chart which lists our color grading terms with a more detailed description of the hues:

Color Description
Baby Rose Pink: Light pastel pink
Peachy Pink: Orangey coral pink
True Pink: Bright rosy pink
Raspberry Pink: Fuchsia berry pink
Intense Pink: Reddish purplish pink

Fancy Blue Diamonds

Our fancy blue diamonds have a distinctly blue bodycolor and are also very rare in nature. The most valuable natural fancy blue diamonds have a distinct hue, medium tone and vivid color saturation.

We offer our fancy blue diamonds in five color ranges: sky blue, baby blue, true blue, medium blue and navy blue.

Below is a chart which lists our color grading terms with a more detailed description of the hues.

Color Description
Sky Blue: Light icy blue
Baby Blue: Soft pastel blue
True Blue: Royal bright blue
Medium Blue: Medium denim blue
Navy Blue: Deep indigo blue

Clarity

We use the most skilled cutters for our fancy cultured diamonds; therefore we only have diamonds with the highest clarity ratings. Our diamonds range from SI (Slightly Included) to VS (Very Slightly Included). Our VS diamonds are eye-clean and have minute inclusions that are difficult to see with a 10x loupe. Our SI diamonds are also eye-clean with small inclusions that are somewhat easier to see with a 10x loupe.

Carat

Our fancy yellow cultured diamonds can be grown between 0.02 ct. to 1.5 ct. If there is a specific size you are looking for, please fill out our custom request form and we will let you know if we have that available.

Our fancy pink and blue diamonds can be grown between 0.02 to 0.70 ct. If there is a specific size you are looking for, please fill out our custom request form and we will let you know if we have that available.

Shape

We offer our fancy yellow diamonds in the round brilliant cut. Occasionally we have fancy shaped yellow diamonds available in the princess, asscher, emerald, cushion and radiant cut. We will list these diamonds under “Featured Diamonds”.

We offer our fancy pink and blue diamonds in the round brilliant cut only. We do not have fancy shapes available at this time.

Certification

Upon special request, we can arrange to have your Gemesis or Chatham cultured diamond graded by an independent diamond grading lab such as the EGL (European Gemological Laboratory).

This service is complimentary for diamonds 1.0 ct. and over and must be requested while purchasing. For diamonds 0.99 ct. and under, each certificate is $125.00. After your diamond is sent to EGL, please allow 5 to 15 business days for the certification and grading process. For more information, please call us at: 800-594-8873.

Synthetic (Cultured) Diamond vs. Diamond Simulant

Synthetic (Cultured) Diamond
A synthetic diamond is a man-made, lab-created cultured diamond, produced either by subjecting carbon-bearing material to high temperature and pressure or by the chemical vapor deposition method.

Synthetic diamonds have the same chemical, physical and optical properties as their natural counterparts. Gemesis and Chatham cultured diamonds are synthetic diamonds.

Diamond Simulant
A diamond simulant is any material which is not diamond or synthetic diamond, but which simulates or imitates a diamond’s appearance and is used in its place as a substitute.

Common diamond simulants include cz (cubic zirconia), glass, plastic, russian brilliants, asha and moissanite.

Cultured Diamond vs. Mined Diamond Comparison

Our cultured diamonds possess all of the qualities of a mined diamond: unequaled hardness, fire, brilliance and scintillation. Just look at the comparison chart below to see how a cultured diamond compares to a mined diamond on these ten characteristics.
